[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]To tell you the history of our Masseria we digged into our family memories, into those suitcases we took with us when we crossed the ocean to go to Canada and then come back here, on top of our mountains, in the old family house.
A round trip to and from the places where the concept of travelling is often well known. …the green paths of the “tratturo” on which the flocks of transhumance and the centuries-old railroad connecting the lands of Apennines to the steamships sailing to America and Australia…
Over the course of its history the Masseria has welcomed migrant shepherds who travelled along the old “tratturo” paths. Today we host tourist and customers in the places that have become Unesco Natural Heritage thanks to the biodiversity of its territory.
Even our meals with traditional recipes and local products tell the history of our ancient food & wine and seasonal traditions
Preserving the history of this place and of our family within the ancient stone walls of our Masseria; sharing these memories with all those who wish to discover the hidden treasures away from the classical destinations – these are the ambitious projects Masseria Monte Pizzi aiming to achieve.
We like to think of our Masseria as a meeting place where you can discover old traditions and share new experiences while sitting around the table.
Nowadays transhumance is a sporadic, almost folkloristic event, the ancient shepherds are giving way to hikers, cyclists and travellers of all kinds offering the same genuineness as always
