The natural Unesco Reserve can be easily reached even by bike from our Masseria.

Biodiversity is one of the most important territories of northern Molise and the Montedimezzo MaB Reserve is a wonderful example of biodiversity.
Splendid ancient woods and protected species find in these 240 hectares their natural habitat.

Apart from being a Natural Reserve this is also a wonderful place for walking and bike excursions. But never forget to respect the environment around you!!!

There are also aviaries and fences which host some typical species of the area. There is in fact a structure of the Corpo Forestale dello Stato (State Forestry Forces) for the protection and care of rare animals, including those accidentally injured.

After a few minutes of walking along the tracks you will come across the legendary “King Fajone”, a huge beech with a circumference of more than 7 meters!

The Riserva is easily reached from the Masseria by bicycle: from the main road turn right towards San Pietro Avellana, cycling along the ancient Sulmona-Carpinone railway. After the junction for Vastogirardi you will find a shed and wonderful green meadows on your right. You’re there!
